capacitor --A device used to store a charge of electricity. circuit breaker--A safety switch installed in a circuit that automatically interrupts the flow of electricity if the current exceeds a predetermined amount. Once tripped, a circuit breaker can be reset manually. compressor --A machine that compresses, or reduces the volume of, air or gas. condenser --A device used to convert gases or vapors to a liquid. ------------- continuity--The state of having a continuous electrical path. evaporator--A device used to change a liquid into vapor. idler pulley--A pulley used to take the slack out of a drive belt. Insulator--A nonconducting material.
