He provides a largely sympathetic lesson on why people dig such holes for themselves and why creditors let them. The information is nicely condensed and includes illustrations that people at all intellectual levels will connect with. The writing and the matter-of-fact reading are proactive--he doesn't celebrate or condemn anyone's goofy money decisions. Know yourself, get your attitudes and behavior under control, and then use the author's formulas and action steps to wrestle your credit report, account by account, back into something respectable. T.W. AudioFile Great Consumer Credit/Debt Resource! -- The ABC's of Getting Out of Debt:Trade Your Bad Debt for Good Debt and Your Bad Credit for Good Credit really stands out among the many credit and debt related books available to consumers for many reasons. For starters, the book covers the topic of credit and debt in a very thorough and objective manner. Such critical, but often overlooked, topics as the health effects of debt are addressed. In addition, the book provides very simple and practical steps to help consumers that are struggling with credit and/or debt problems.
An excellent overview of the credit system -- I actually have the audio version of the book and found it to be both broad and in-depth. The author dispels many of the credit myths, and examines exactly how credit is established, rated, and how it can be used in both good and bad ways. He spends a lot of time reviewing the subject of "credit repair" explaining how scammers (especially on the internet)operate. He focuses on what you can do legally to improve your credit. I've read most books on credit and debt management and found this to be a welcome addition to my bookshelf. Reviews: |
