Embellishments A to Z -- Stephanie Valley -- Creative ways to enhance your garments

Craftsworkers have been enhancing their products with embellishments for centuries. Details make a statement about an object's purpose, recipient, or creator. Because time is in short supply in our modern society, embellishments are often overlooked. We are often rushing just to finish a project, much less allowing ourselves time to add creative details.

Use this simple and concise reference guide as a starting point, and make time to experiment. Allow yourself the freedom to expand your horizon of knowledge and to explore a process without feeling compelled to create a finished "thing." Not everyone is excited by machine embroidery, fringing, stenciling, or devor. But techniques you never before thought to try might offer new inspiration, turning a cookie-cutter project into an original creation. Ideas form and grow only out of opportunity.

Embellishments A to Z will spark your creative spirit. From appliqu to stitch and slash, from fagoting to tucks, the clear step-by-step instructions and photos in this handy guide make it convenient to try new techniques and experiment with old ones. All the information you need to apply some of these methods to your projects is contained in an easy-to-use spiralbound format. This is the one book you will want to keep by your sewing machine to refer to again and again.

Reviews:

What a treasure of a book -- I love this book, it gives ideas and instructions on how to do everything from applique to simple weaving. The pictures are clear and very helpful in illustrating the techniques. Projects are rated from easy to intermidiate to challenging, and there are supply lists so you can have everything you need. I found it very inspiring in my work and hope to find other book by the author!

Worth every cent I payed!!! -- This book was everthing and more that I expected it to be. The author's expertise in the field was quite commendable. I bought it for all the women in my tennis group. Thanks Miss Valley
